Questing Moon™ Strategic Communications is a resource for organizations who understand that communication drives their business and their mission. It is the business writing side of Chanda K. Zimmerman, who brings more than 25 years experience to every client project.

QMSC specializes in expert writing and editing — but we deliver far more. We also provide strategic consulting to help our clients figure out how to solve communication challenges and get audiences to respond. Then, we provide creative services to help turn ideas into polished communication tools. QMSC handles all formats, including print, web, Power Point, speeches, and scripts for video, interactive, e-learning and live events.

Philosophy

Your business communications are made up of more than just your marketing tools. Your organization's ommunications mix includes your corporate/strategic and executive communications, your marketing and PR, your internal communications, your training materials, technical/process documentation and customer support.

History

QMSC opened in 1995. I opened the company after holding several staff positions. I've served as speech writer to the governor of New Mexico, senior staff writer for the Michigan Senate, advertising copywriter for a major ad agency on Chrysler Corporation accounts, and as general manager and vice president of marketing for a highly successful international stock photo agency which also produced specialized software for visual image library management.

QMSC is based in Warrensburg, Missouri, a college town just outside the Kansas City metro area. I came here to be closer to my parents during their final years, and needed a flexible schedule. That's why I opened my own business. I also liked working on a wide variety of projects, and tackling unique challenges across different industries. My clients' work ranges from health care technology to engineering, from small business to agriculture. It's never a dull moment!

I earned my Master of Fine Arts in Professional Writing from the University of Southern California and my BA in TV/Film and Sociology from Trinity University (TX). I set out to be a professional writer, someone who can apply my skills across all forms and formats. The ability to tell a good story is not dependent upon the medium.

I've taught communication courses for more than 12 years at local colleges and universities, sharing my knowledge and gaining first-hand experience in adult learning and creative approaches to the learning process. My students say I'm tough, but they also tell me they've learned more in my classroom than almost any other. Now that's success!
