Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine - a nonprofit organization that promotes preventive medicine, conducts clinical research, and encourages higher standards for ethics and effectiveness in research.

Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA) - a moderate, mainstream Protestant denomination that's been around for more than four centuries.

Animal Organizations:

Friends of the Friendless No-Kill Animal Shelter on www.petfinder.com: (Look under Shelters in Lexington, MO.) If you're looking to rescue an animal, there are many good shelters, but I particularly like no-kill shelters. This is the only one in our local area. By adopting or donating, you are doing a good work for the animals and those who commit their lives to help them.
Alley Cat Allies: A nationwide organization working on behalf of homeless cats, and pioneers of the now nationally accepted Trap-Neuter-Release approach to feral cat colonies.
American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals:(ASPCA) The oldest and one of the largest animal protection groups in the US. Watch their “Animal Precinct” TV show on Animal Planet!
Animal Legal Defense Fund: Providing assistance to communities and prosecutors working to make anti-cruelty laws stronger and end the suffering of all creatures.

Professional Experience

In 1995, I opened QMC to provide business clients with professional quality writing/editing services. I soon found that clients valued my strategic insight as much as my writing skills, so I added consulting services. QMSC also provides selected production services including Power Point, Web design, layout and more.

General Manager/VP of Marketing, Stock Imagery, Inc., Denver, CO
Managing this international stock photo agency for an absentee owner, I turned it into an industry leader through aggressive marketing, unique catalogs and first-class customer service. I also managed a spin-off software company with specialty software for visual image libraries.

Speechwriter, Office of the Governor, Santa Fe, NM
As speechwriter to Governor Garry Carruthers, I researched and wrote speeches, talking points, briefing books, and print projects, and provided communication counsel as needed. .

Senior Staff Writer, Michigan Senate Republican Press Office, Lansing, MI
As the primary speechwriter to key caucus leadership, I wrote hundreds of speeches, news articles, commentaries, brochures and press releases on everything from taxes to healthcare, agriculture to technology. I also initiatied a highly successful, groundbreaking a-v and video production program.
